The guitarist, behind such memorable songs as "Freebird" and "Sweet Home Alabama," passed away Sunday, according to a statement released by the band.
Although his cause of death was not disclosed, Rossington suffered from a series of heart-related issues over the years, including a heart attack in 2015.

Dovie Nickels, 26, was charged with indecent exposure for the Tuesday arrest that occurred near the JW Marriot Austin hotel at approximately 5.20pm.
Responding officers found Nickels sitting alone at a patio table at the Second Bar + Kitchen on the 200 block of Congress Avenue, an arrest affidavit obtained by the Statesman.
